Banana Mango Smoothie
We have been conditioned to believe that we must spend hours preparing healthy meals in order to live the wholesome lifestyle we’ve been striving for. Or that we must actually put something in a pan or in the oven to prepare a meal worth eating…
However, this simply is not true. Some of nature’s finest nutrition is found in raw fruits and vegetables that can be eaten without seasoning, without cooking, and sometimes, even without chopping!!
Banana & Mango Facts
While I do not count calories as a method for keeping my waist thin and my health well-rounded, I will bring to your attention that such a smoothie as this one is loaded with calories! And yes, that is a good thing, considering a calorie is simply a unit of energy!

Will I Be Eating TOO Many Bananas?
I understand that wondering whether or not you’ll be eating too many bananas could become a valid question for some. While I can’t answer this question for you, I can help you look at the facts and I’m sure you can answer it on your own!
Banana Health Benefits:
- Rich in necessary minerals, such as manganese and potassium
- 1 banana contains 13% of your daily manganese needs & 10% of your daily potassium needs
- High in fiber, which helps fight off constipation, stomach ulcers, and even heartburn
- A great source of Vitamin C
- 1 banana contains 10% of your daily Vitamin C needs
Recognizing that these are just some of the many health benefits that bananas provide, I encourage you to ask yourself, “Will I be eating too many bananas? Will I be getting too much Vitamin C, or too many other important minerals, such as manganese and potassium?”
If you’re anything like me, you more than likely answered “No” to both of these questions…
But What if A Smoothie Just Isn’t Enough?
Now the next question arises…
Perhaps you’re thinking you’ll still be in need of (or desiring) just a little something more to go along with your Banana Mango Smoothie!
Perhaps you’re asking, “But what if a smoothie just isn’t enough?!”
In keeping with our raw, organic-themed lunch, there are many solutions to this question that are just as easy and won’t force you to pull out a pan, turn on the oven, or stop at that gas station or fast food restaurant between work meetings to pick something up.
After all, raw, uncooked foods eaten the way they were given to us are truly fast food.
Here are a couple ideas to get you started:
- Add 1-2 Tablespoons of Raw Hemp Seeds to your Banana Mango Smoothie
- Eat a handful of Raw Pumpkin Seeds on the side along with your smoothie
- Cut up an apple & dip it in organic almond butter for an added boost
And if you REALLY think you’ll need a boost, you could always incorporate more than one of these ideas!
Keep It Simple Silly
You see, one of the keys to living a healthy lifestyle (and I mean truly living it) is to keep it simple. Don’t get so caught up in the need to cook and prepare elaborate, Instagram-worthy meals that you forget what your body is after: nutrition!

Instagram won’t care that you’re drinking an organic, raw fruit smoothie instead of eating creamy spinach artichoke stuffed salmon with lemon butter sauce, for example.
But your body will care that you’re giving it what it’s asking for: nutrition from unprocessed whole foods directly out of the ground.
